(I am going to be posting other life issues in a separate post.)

As most of you probably remember, [livejournal.com profile] dream_mancer came to visit me for a week earlier this month. We had an AWESOME time (as we always do :D).

Took the GREs this morning. I wouldn't sat I bombed it, but I did not do well, or at least not as well as I'd hoped. I'm going to wait to decide whether or not I want to take it again (third time's the charm?) once my final scores come in the mail. I know I did well on the essays, at least (or at least I think I did, we'll see what those pesky scorers have to say about it) so I'm hoping that bumps my score up some.

Too bad the whole thing wasn't just essays. I'm pretty sure I would have rocked it then. Me and Standardized tests have never played well together. I'm talking ever, like since I was in grade school.

Sigh. Maybe I'll just go to a school in Vancouver, then I won't need GRE scores.

--

I ended up having some free time Sunday and met [livejournal.com profile] acoustics1220 downtown. We hung out at The Olive Tree (one of my favorite restaurants ever, [livejournal.com profile] dream_mancer don't be surprised if I drag you there, too) and talked for a while. She is awesome :D I'll definitely come visit you in TX some time ♥

--

The Pride Parade was incredible on Sunday. I didn't even go, just passed it while I was walking down 34th Street getting some last minute shopping done for the coming weekend. I AM SO PROUD OF MY STATE ♥

--

Other than that, I worked until 7:30 tonight and while I am now exhausted, it was nice and quiet after 5, so I got a lot of work done.

AND THERE ARE ONLY FOUR DAYS UNTIL I VISIT MY BRAIN TWIN. I CAN'T WAIT.

So, today started out badly - I got to the bus stop just to realize that my metrocard was not in my pocket. I pretty much ran all the way home, didn't find it in the street - not that I was expecting to - or anywhere in my house. This is a problem as I buy monthly metrocards and this one was still good until practically the end of April. So, after much tossing things about, I finally gave up, grabbed the bus fare in quarters, and headed back out.

Then, I couldn't figure out where I left my keys. Back downstairs to grab them off of the dresser. Then, it started to rain, and I didn't have my umbrella. Back inside the house and downstairs to grab it from my room. Somehow, I still made it to work by 9. I'm still not sure how I accomplished that.

By 10, I was jittery, anxious, and all around not feeling well - all signs that point to a cup of coffee that was definitely not decaf, despite what I told the man behind the counter at the deli. I ended up with a migraine by the afternoon.

Luckily, my dad called with some good news - we have a grandfather clock in our living room. My metrocard fell between the clock and our entertainment center. I don't even know how that happened - my best guess is it flew out while I was pulling my keys out of my coat pocket or putting my ipod in. He found it while he was chasing after one of my cats on his way out the door. This is a huge relief as it is 89 bucks I most definitely do not have that I don't have to pay again now.

That and the following sentence posted by the mods on [livejournal.com profile] sncross_bigbang today made my day brighter:
Your rough draft needs to be either 15,000 words and completed, or at least 10,000 words with more than 80% of the fic done.

THANK THE DEAR AND FLUFFY LORD. Because there is less than two weeks left, and I am already scrambling to figure out where the hell my plot is supposed to go. Watching the entire first season of Castle was not as helpful in prompting the muse as I was hoping it would be, and this week's episode just put new ideas in my head. Which is also not at all helpful. Ugh.

This past weekend, I visited [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey in DC, and it was awesome. We marathoned all of the Jo and Katie!Ruby episodes of Supernatural - because only we would be crazy enough to do something like this - and ate cupcakes. And reminisced on the absolute epic win of Season 2. And shamelessly loved on the kick-ass females.

Generally, we just flailed a lot.

And ended up walking for three hours around DC on Saturday - which was completely unplanned.

We're just that awesome?

Suffice to say I didn't want to leave :(

But my video conversion program finally stopped sucking, YouTube finally stopped crashing, and I was FINALLY able to upload all of the videos from the crazy fandom-shaped flail-fest that took place in Washington DC with [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey, [livejournal.com profile] deadduck008, and [livejournal.com profile] miss_mishi 3 weeks ago now.

Videos are under the cut. Warning: Insanity is about to commence.

Panda dogs and doomed ships and Switzerland, oh my! )

To say this weekend was awesome would be an understatement. [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey, [livejournal.com profile] deadduck008, [livejournal.com profile] miss_mishi and I had fandom-shaped flail fest around Washington DC, and it was outstanding.

Highlights:
-Lunch in Pangea (its a cute little restaurant - we did not go back in time, although that would have been infinitely cooler) in which we were loud in our fandom squeeing and discussions and I'm pretty sure that both the workers and the patrons sang a chorus on our exit (Purple platypi? lusty Jasper? :D)
-Cupcakes and more fandom discussion during which more patrons are frightened (except one who hid behind his book and laughed the entire time)
-D00MED SHIP!
-PANDA DOG! (video explanations of these are coming, promise)
-Wandering the streets for TWO HOURS so that a certain Elyssa could take a picture in front of the Swiss Embassy, crashing three blocks away because we did not know how close we were and were convinced it did not exist (12 on the nebulous scale!). However, it does, and videos of the hilarity and pictures are forthcoming.
-Dinner at a delicious but much quieter restaurant in which Elyssa came up with a FABULOUS representation of how tents=triangles=awesome. And nebulous.
-The most hilarious game of catchphrase ever during which apparently fandom explanations count, and after midnight, Elyssa turns into the most giggly person on the face of the planet.
-Elyssa and her memory virus and her number dyslexia resulting in us wandering around trying to find breakfast (lunch?) the next afternoon. But we did find it, and it was yummy. And more fandom discussion ensued, but a bit quieter. And a bit more debate-y. Heh.

This was the most fun I've had in a while, and I'm very glad I decided to go, even if ELYSSA, YOUR ROOM MADE ME SICK AGAIN. I HATE YOU.

Met [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey, [livejournal.com profile] deadduck008, and [livejournal.com profile] conniegoquack yesterday.

And they were all. Awesome. We ran around the city in search of cupcake places, were foiled almost twice (Ali, we're not following that list today! It LIES!) because two places were closed, but the second one had the location they moved to on the building, so all was well.

Then, we attempted to see Juno, but it was sold out (sorry, Elyssa), so instead, we went in search of dinner, and sat there for three hours talking about many random things. [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey and I bonded over fandom and fic.

We swear we only talked about it for twenty minutes.
[livejournal.com profile] deadduck008 and [livejournal.com profile] conniegoquack swear it was an hour and a half.
They're probably right ;)

I got video footage of while we were sitting at dinner! Much fun all around :D

AND I SEE THEM ALL AGAIN TODAY! :D
