Okay dear flist, I have a question.

Do I still have to spoiler cut this? I guess I will, just in case. )

My initial reaction is one I was not expecting to have. After HBP, I was expecting to hate this book, to have a mild like for it. To think it was "eh."

I wasn't expecting to absolutely love it.

Mild spoilers behind the cut )

The line to get wristbands for a reserved book of Deathly Halllows at Barnes and Noble Union Square is already out the door and around the corner.

I had to have my friend get my wristbands (one for me and one for another friend who I reserved a book for) for me because I went on my lunch hour and had to go back to work.

This is probably my last update before I read the book, and thats a scary thought. That the next time I update... I'll know what happens. I'll know how it all ends and I can't believe this is really it. No more waiting, no more speculating on who will die, who's good or bad. After tonight... we'll know.

No matter what, I'm not leaving fandom. After almost 6 years, after all the wonderful friends I've made, I couldn't leave.

All thanks to one boy wizard.

So, I have to say, no matter how the book ends, no matter how much I like or dislike what happens... thank you, J.K. Rowling. Thank you for giving us this wonderful world to be a part of.

NO SPOILERS, so don't panic :)

I'm sure that some of you have heard that the NY Times has posted a Deathly Hallows review. Well, what you may not know is that the review was riddled with spoilers...including information about the ending.

Behind the cut is a form letter of disappointment, as seen on The Leaky Caulron, from the fans to the paper about this. I already sent my e-mail. You should all send yours.

The bolded part is just a little addition of my own.

To whom it may concern: )

Okay. That's it.

I hate to do this, but I'm getting a bit cranky with the spoiler situation. Comments are being made and, with the context they're in, I can figure out exactly what they mean.

Therefore, I'm going to be filtering my flist until Saturday night. Sorry guys, but I REALLLLLY don't want to be spoiled for this one :-/ I know some of you are being REALLY good about spoilers, and I appreciate that, but...grah. I'm going to be overly cautious :-/

You know, HINTING at what's behind the spoiler cut tag? DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE CUT TAG!

Looks like [livejournal.com profile] harryhermione is coming off the friends list until after Friday.

*is annoyed*

After seeing that some people have been unintentionally spoiled for DH, I'm following [livejournal.com profile] jlh's lead and taking some precautions. Until this weekend, only people I have friended can comment to my journal. I'm staying away from almost every HP related website and LJ community, with the exception of those I know are being moderated or are for news only, and even then, I'm staying away from the comments. I don't want to have to filter people out completely, because I know some of you are looking at spoilers, but I also like reading your posts about your lives, so I just ask - please, please, PLEASE use lj-cuts.

I was spoiled for HBP, but I want to go into DH completely blind. I'm not even going to look at the Table of Contents before I start Chapter 1. I'm not going to skip ahead to the end, as tempted as I may be (because I always end up doing it, no matter how much I tell myself I won't).

...it's really almost over, isn't it? :-/

So. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Interesting.

I...Really, I don't know what to think. It's appropriate, I suppose - the right amount of dark and dreary. My first thought when I saw it was "OMG, PLEASE DON'T KILL HARRY!" (Because really, hasn't he been through enough? Does she really need to kill him too? Anyway...) But otherwise... I'm sort of unimpressed and meh about it. I think I was just expecting something... more? Different? Maybe my opinion will change with time.

I don't really have any theories yet (and even if I did, they'd probably be wrong, as they usually are), but I've seen some interesting ones concerning the Veil, Godric's Hollow (which I think is the most plausible one I've seen so far), and the mentioned-but-so-far-unseen Hogwarts graveyard.

Now... release date anyone? Because, let's be honest, that's what we really want ;)

I leave you with amusing Book 7 art by [livejournal.com profile] kungfooqueen - C'mon, you know you were thinking it too XD
